Navigating Global Politics at Work
Are you a leader struggling to know what to say or do in the wake of global political unrest and uncertainty?
Or, have you experienced the tensions and paralysis of polarizing views when engaging with others?
You are not alone!
Learn to build workplaces where people can safely and compassionately demonstrate curiosity about politics and political identities while engaging in meaningful dialogue.
OVERVIEW
Current events highlight a longstanding need to embrace political diversity in the workplace. Mired by taboos and complexities, leaders, and organizations often stumble, crisis after crisis, to adequately respond to the needs of their people. With fears of saying or doing the “wrong thing,” many default to inaction and silence or develop an overreliance on organization-wide communications and interventions.
At the Inclusive Leadership Institute, we recognize political diversity as a dimension of identity, and one that is often overlooked and underestimated in the workplace. Just as DEI efforts have focused on gender, race, age and orientation, we can create workplace environments inclusive of political dimensions of difference. In this workshop, you will:
- Explore the significance and importance for political diversity, equity and inclusion at work.
- Normalize political conversation by sharing real challenges, questions and concerns.
- Outline strategies for moving from polarization to productive and meaningful interactions.
